Program evaluation of the Autism Care for Toddlers (ACT) clinics parent training program
Product Description:
The Autism Care for Toddlers (ACT) clinic provides individual intervention to underinsured families of infants and toddlers (18 to 36 months) diagnosed with autism. Services also include providing concurrent parent training, including behavioral skills knowledge assessment and clinician direct observation of skills and procedures. A decision-oriented program evaluation approach was used to implement objective methods involving clinicians and parents to evaluate the social validity and parent knowledge and skills outcomes of the ACT clinics parent training program and inform future program decisions. The social validity (i.e., the appropriateness of the programs goals, procedures, and effects from parents perspective) and effects on parent skills learning are focuses. Results are discussed in the context of key findings relevant for future program recommendations and the inclusion of stakeholders.
