Gale Hann, MPH, CPH

Emerging Leader Representative


Gale Hann (they/them), MPH, CPH is a disability advocate and researcher. Gale holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies from Western Washington University and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC).

From 2020-2021, Gale was an Oklahoma Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (OKLEND) trainee. As a trainee, they represented the discipline of public health while also sharing their experiences as a multiply disabled autistic advocate. Currently, Gale works at OUHSC evaluating projects related to disability, family health, and sexual and reproductive health. They serve as the data coordinator for OKLEND and The Center for Learning and Leadership, Oklahoma’s University Center for Excellent in Developmental Disabilities.

Starting August 2024, Gale will take on a new role as a PhD student and fellow in the Leaders for Transition Program at the Zarrow Institute on Transition and Self-Determination within the University of Oklahoma’s Department of Educational Psychology. Gale is passionate about including people with disabilities as leaders in research and service. As a PhD student they are excited to research methods to improve the quality of life for the 2SLGBTQ+ community, autistic community, and those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They are honored to serve as the Emerging Leader Representative on the AUCD board.
