Speech-Language Pathologist/LEND Faculty Member

  • Provides comprehensive speech and language diagnostic evaluations, consultation, and therapy for pediatric population with a variety of neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, through an interdisciplinary team approach.
  • Administers the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – 2nd Ed. (ADOS-2) for individuals with an Autism specific interdisciplinary team including a psychologist and pediatrician.
  • Collaborates with various disciplines including Developmental-Behavioral Pediatricians, Psychology, Social Work, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Audiology in weekly interdisciplinary staffing.
  • Composes informational handouts for families and caregivers regarding diagnoses and recommendations for continued care
  • Supervises the training of graduate students and mentoring of clinical fellows pursuing a career in speech-language pathology.

UAB LEND Training Director                                                                                      Aug. 2021-Present

  • Develops and oversees training programs related to the UAB Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disorders (LEND) and University Center of Excellence on Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) training grants, including yearly trainee project and self-study opportunities.
  • Assists in data collection and reporting for LEND and UCEDD grants
  • Provides education related to speech-language issues to students, fellows, and professionals participating in the UAB LEND/UCEDD training program and community partners.
