Dr. Reinhartsen is an associate professor and expereienced speech-language pathologist. Her interests focus on assessment and treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities and complex communication challenges. She has managed several training grants focused on providing training, consultation, and technical assistance to service providers and families of children with severe communication and physical impairments, and has authored publications related to children with disabilities. Currently, she is involved in a number of projects that include an epidemiological study of children with autism, providing AAC assessments and consultation for individuals with AU and other developmental disabilities, and training interdisciplinary AU and AAC assesment teams across the state. She also is a prinicpal investigator for a project assessing access to services in NC for adults with intellectual disabilities.
