Vita/Bio:

Debra Kramlich, PhD, RN, CNE, CCRN-K, is a graduate of Saint Joseph's College of Maine with a master's degree in nursing education and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh with a PhD in Nursing. She is an Associate Professor (tenured) and Assistant Director for ABSN Education in the University of New England (UNE) School of Nursing and Population Health. She has over 40 years of nursing experience, with certification in the specialties of adult and pediatric critical care and nursing education. She is an independent child care health consultant, certified through Maine Roads to Quality, and owner of Nursing Knowledge Solutions, LLC. She currently serves as chair of the Curriculum Committee, Primary Nurse Planner for continuing education approval, ex-officio member of the Systematic Program Evaluation Committee, and member of the Nursing Faculty Development and Test Committees within the School of Nursing and Population Health; member of the Westbrook College of Health Professions (WCHP) Committee for Excellence in Research and Scholarship (former chair); and University Faculty Assembly representative with membership on the Research and Scholarship and Academic Affairs Committees. She currently serves on the board of directors for the local Kappa Zeta at-Large Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing as Governance Committee Chair and past-president, and past-president and current at-large board member of the Southern Maine Chapter of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. She is a manuscript reviewer for multiple peer-reviewed nursing and health care journals. She has published and presented nationally and internationally on a number of diverse topics such as family presence during resuscitation, pediatric fall risk and pain assessments, bioethical standards guiding civility in health care and education, complementary and alternative therapies in acute and critical care, substance use disorders in rural pregnant and parenting women, and nursing education. Beyond her professional roles, she has been a traditional Usui Reiki practitioner for over 10 years and has achieved Reiki Master/Teacher certification.
