During the Parent-Child Interaction Therapy National Convention in Knoxville, Tennessee September 4-6, 2024, Dr. Dainelys Garcia was awarded the Trailblazer Advocacy Award.
Dr. Dainelys Garcia is a child psychologist at the Mailman Center for Child Development at the University of Miami. She received her PhD in Child and Adolescent Clinical Science from Florida International University. Dr. Garcia specializes in the development and implementation of evidence-based interventions for disruptive behavior in young children. Her research and clinical expertise has focused primarily on interventions targeting young children with developmental delays and disabilities, or conditions that increase risk for disability (including children with traumatic brain injury), and identifying effects of child, parent, and family factors on child behavior and development. Dr. Garcia has extensive experience providing clinical services to families of young children from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and working collaboratively with community partners to improve access to care for historically underserved families.
