The journal’s inclusion in DOAJ underscores a commitment to best practices in open access publishing. This achievement will not only enhance DDNJ’s reputation and credibility, but also broaden its reach and impact with readers and authors around the world.
“From our grassroots beginning in 2020, it’s been really exciting to see the interest and engagement with DDNJ grow nationally and globally,” says Matthew Wappett, the journal’s editor-in-chief and Executive Director of USU’s Institute for Disability Research, Policy, & Practice.
“We’re one of only a few disability journals in North America to be included in DOAJ. This is an acknowledgment of the high-quality scholarship in DDNJ and our ethical commitment to accessibility and open-source publishing practices.”
DDNJ publishes research in the field of disability studies, with a focus on programs, practices, and policies that encourage the full inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of public life. The journal is published with support from USU Libraries.
