The Grassroots Project is offering two opportunities for individuals and organizations in the disability advocacy space. The Grassroots Project is a national effort to support disability grassroots advocacy. This new initiative is administered by Human Services Research Institute with funding from the Administration for Community Living.
OPPORTUNITY #1
The Grassroots Project has an open call for submissions from state or local grassroots, disability, advocacy coalitions in the USA! You can apply directly at this link: State and Local Advocacy & Action Coalitions Survey [surveymonkey.com] More information about this call for submissions and what the application process is like can be found here: The Grassroots Project - Human Services Research Institute [hsri.org]. Deadline to apply is January 20th, 2025. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions about the application process. The Grassroots Project is supporting State and Local coalition development through this funding opportunity. By bringing together different groups at different levels, the Grassroots Project will help to build a unique infrastructure of collaborative advocacy. Organizations focused on disability advocacy that are interested in building or expanding their coalitions and networks, developing informational and education tools and resources to support advocates to connect and engage in advocacy related to disability policy and service design and implementation in their state or local areas should apply!
OPPORTUNITY #2
The Grassroots Project [hsri.org], funded by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services's Administration for Community Living [acl.gov] and administered by Human Services Research Institute [hsri.org], is currently recruiting for a Grassroots Advocacy Fellow. The HSRI Grassroots Advocacy Fellowship is designed for people with lived experience of receiving services through publicly funded human service systems to gain experience in advocacy, organizing, communications, policy research, evaluation, and technical assistance. This is an opportunity for professional and personal development of emerging leaders with lived experience of the human services policies and systems we seek to improve. Please see this posting to apply: Grassroots Project Advocacy Fellowship [workforcenow.adp.com]. It is best to get applications in within the next two weeks (we are looking to have someone start February 1st, 2025 and will be interviewing in January - must be authorized to work in the USA). No phone calls or emails about the application. If you need an accessibility accommodation or cannot use ADP's platform for accessibility reasons please contact [email protected].
