A three credit hour web-based distance education course
designed for families, individuals, or educational teams working with individuals who are deafblind. It utilizes the DISCUSS model developed at the Health Science Center, School of Medicine, Center for Development and Disability. This on-line course provides an insight into the world of deafblindness. The definitions, causes, and learning consequences of deafblindness are defined and explored. Simulations are included to facilitate experiences similar or closely related to deafblindness. Virtual Conference center discussions are maintained throughout the duration of the course to facilitate learning, sharing, and constructive brainstorming.
