Research article translated into lay language. Adults with dementia often have trouble finding words or remembering names during conversations. This can be frustrating for everyone during the conversation. Communication boards can help the person with dementia recall words and remember names since they can often read single words and recognize pictures. We asked what do people with dementia include on their communication boards. This information will help people who do not know how to make communication boards that help with conversation.
