Research article translated into lay language. Very little is known about pregnancy in women with disabilities. Before this study, no one even knew how many women with disabilities get pregnant. We wanted to learn four things: 1) How many women with disabilities were pregnant in the past year? 2) Was that different from women without disabilities? 3) Was it different for women with different types of disabilities? 4) Was it different for women who needed help with things like dressing or bathing?
