Dr. Horner-Johnson is a Professor of Public Health. Her research is based in OHSU's Institute on Development & Disability.
Dr. Horner-Johnson's primary research interests include: disability-related health disparities and barriers to health care; reproductive health of adolescents and adults with disabilities; and potentially compounded disparities as disability intersects with other sociodemographic characteristics. Additional interests include disability measurement, assessment of health-related quality of life in the context of disability, attitudes toward people with disabilities, and prevention of maltreatment.
She is an active member and past chair of the Disability Section of the American Public Health Association, a co-founder of the Oregon Public Health Association's Disability Section, and an editorial board member for Disability and Health Journal.
