An examinatin of effects of Welfare Reform enacted by Georgia in 1997 on people with disabilities and their caregivers. Georgia is one of seven states that enacted a broadened participation policy in welfare reform in which individuals with disabilities are not automatically granted and exemption from work participation and are subject to time limits. This work examines survey data from TANF caseworkers in Georgia and documents the massive demands these policies place on caseworkers and their need for the greater knowledge, skill, and information necessary to support people with disabilities.
