Product Description:
One of three training curriculum written to provide direct care providers with a basic understanding of the respect and opportunities for interpersonal relationships and communication that are the basic human rights for people with disabilities. Content for this curriculum was provided by multiple authors - all people with disabilities who contributed their own unique perspectives and experiences about respect. The exercises included in this curriculum are designed to help providers explore their own ideas and feelings about respect for themselves and others; to help providers feel some of the vulnerabilities that people with disabilities experience in their interactions with providers and others; and, to brainstorm and practice strategies to increase respect in their interactions with people with disabilities.
