Children typically develop motor skills from the head control to the upper body control. Typical pattern of motor development accomplishments is rolling, then sitting, getting up, standing, walking, and climbing. Fine and basic motor skills, such as picking up objects, placing blocks in a mug, and scribbling are also important. Early motor and physical delays occurs when children are not fulfilling essential physical achievements in the first months and years of life.
