Product Description:

Deaf Community Rights Awareness Week (Sept 27-Oct 3) and Day (28): In addition to IDEA Act, PR has legislation to guarantee access and participation of deaf population to goods and services. PR Law 136 of 1996 (government agencies must provide an interpreter to assist people with hearing impairments); Law 173 of 2018: Bill of Rights of the Deaf or Hearing Impaired School Community; and Law 266 of 2018: Law of Equal Access to Information for the Deaf through the use of a sign interpreter.
