The Law for the Welfare, Integration and Development of people with Autism, BIDA Law (P.L. 220 of 2012), establishes the public policy in Puerto Rico for people with Autism and promotes early identification, diagnosis and intervention, creation of a Family Support Program, specialized continuing education for health professionals, provides mandatory medical coverage for population with Autism; and creates a Steering Committee to evaluate the implementation of this public policy.
