Health disparities among historically underserved communities are connected to lack of training in cultural competence and provider biases that influence patients health outcomes. Providers play a key role in addressing disparities if they can engage in ongoing education and training about systemic racism and root causes of racial disparities directly linked to inequities in accessing quality health care services.
