Nutlouis - FRP Poster: Resources for Native American Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their Families in Michigan's Upper Peninsula
Product Description:
ASD is diagnosed 1 in 54 children. Native American children are 13% less likely to be diagnosed – this is not due to a smaller percent of those being affected, but due to the lack access to diagnostic services available. Michigan's Upper Peninsula has five federally recognized Indian tribes, indicated by yellow circles on the map. The only Autism-specified treatment in the UP is located in Marquette – 70 miles from the closest reservation.
