Product Description:

In Greece and Rome, disabled people were punished, banished, abused, and left to die. By the Middle Ages, not much had improved despite the opening of the first asylum in 787. The Renaissance saw a shift in the perceptions of people with disabilities but continued the trend of marginalization. Even with protective legislation, people still experience several forms of discrimination in the 21st century.
