Product Description:
Vision is intimately associated with development and the experiences that promote development. The experiences of children who are totally blind are limited because they are not attracted to objects in their visual field. Today, 88% of students with visual impairments are educated in the public schools. Most students with visual impairments receive support from a vision specialist who also works with the teacher and parent. Early identification of a visual impairment will lead to informing parents and caregivers of ways to appropriately stimulate their child. Parents will also learn to communicate through words and touch to introduce the child to his/her environment instead of waiting for him/her to ?reach out? (Turnbull, et al., 1995).
