Product Description:
A three credit hour web-based distance education course designed for families, individuals, or educational teams working with individuals who are deaf-blind. It utilizes the DISCUSS model developed at the Health Science Center, School of Medicine, Center for Development and Disability. This on-line course provides an insight into the world of deaf-blindness. The definitions, causes, and learning consequences of deaf-blindness are defined and explored. Simulations are included to facilitate experiences similar or closely related to deaf-blindness. Virtual Conference center discussions are maintained throughout the duration of the course to facilitate learning, sharing, and constructive brainstorming.
