Full color poster depicting the two plaintiffs (Lois Curtis and Elaine Wilson) and their lawyer (Sue Jamieson) of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court Case L.C. and E.W. v Olmstead. In 1999 this decision confirmed that unnecessary institutionalization is a civil-rights violation under the Americans with Disabilities Act. As a result of this case, Lois, Elaine and now thousands of other people across the U.S. have been freed from institutions and are being supported to live inclusive lives in their communities. This poster is a great way to help people remember that there are still many people living in segregated and congregated settings, and help us to celebrate the anniversary of this court decision (June 22nd).
