Product Description:
A representative sample of Utah students exiting special education in 1996-97 was surveyed one year after exiting. Survey questions focused on employment and job training while in school, residential arrangements, employement, continuing education, community activities, access of social services, and arrest records. Responses were compared to those of a 1990-91 group asked the same questions. In general, results indicate many exiters living with their familes, high unemployement, low wages, limited continuing education and community involvement, and a high rate of arrests. However, compared to the 90-91 sample many more exiters were pursuing additional education, wages were higher, and arrests rates were down.
