Standards-based reform in education has had for reaching impact for many students, including English language learners (ELLs). One aspect of monitoring the extent to which school efforts are successful is the public reporting of all students' participation and performance on state assessments, including the disaggregation of ELL data. Data must be available in state reports as well as in those available locally. This report provides analyses on the participation and performance of ELLs for 1999-2000 in the U.S. Recommendations for future reporting of LEP data are given.
