Objective: Although research has been conducted on the causes of health disparities between adults with and without disabilities, little is known about the causes of health disparities found to exist between children with disabilities and those without disabilities. The purpose of this study was to explore differences in factors that affect health outcomes among three groups: children with intellectual disabilities, children with other disabilities, and children without disabilities. These findings were expected to lead to recommendations for closing the health disparities gap.
