Product Description:
Twenty-page 5"x5" booklet designed as a "skimmer" to communicate to lay audiences the key findings of 8 years of research that tracked what happened to children with multiple and severe disabilities after they left an institution called River's Crossing to live in the community. Research findings are phrased in lay language and juxtapositioned with the actual words used by parents and caregivers to express their supporting opinions and beliefs. This publication will be used to allay the fears of the parents of the 144 children with disabilities being raised in Georgia's institutions that are the subject of the Children's Freedom Initiative to move all children with disabilities into community settings.
