Product Description:

Communication is important to everyone. It can help people get along with each other. It is an effective tool that can help people get what they want and need. Communication plays an important role in building relationships. But it can also create barriers and can lead to misunderstandings. You may already realize the important role it plays in the support you provide to individuals with disabilities. This course will help you understand the important role you play as a communication partner. Communication is a process. It has specific components. It is both formal and informal. This course will help you to see how people communicate with and without words. You will learn strategies that can help you to communicate. You will also learn about different communication styles. You will learn what you can do to get rid of communication barriers. You will also learn about the importance of gestures in everyday communication. Finally, this course will introduce you to augmentative and alternative communication approaches.
