The Effects of Video Modeling on Accurate Implementation of Discrete Trial Instruction & Generalization to Teaching Children with DD
Product Description:
The present study evaluated video modeling to train three new staff members in an early intervention clinic to implement discrete trial instruction (DTI). We evaluated implementation accuracy using a multiple-baseline across participants design. All participants reached the mastery criterion for accurate implementation of DTI following the introduction of VM, and performance remained high during generalization probes. Following training with VM, participants used DTI to teach a child in an early intervention clinic. The results showed that the participants? accurate implementation of DTI remained high during child training, and both children acquired the skills targeted for teaching. These findings suggest that VM may be an effective method to train staff members to implement DTI.
