Collaboration is crucial to addressing direct support recruitment, retention, and training challenges in all health and human services careers. As I reflect back over my 18 years of research, training, and technical assistance, I recall many projects in which collaboration at the organization, state, and/or federal levels was tied to the success of the project. This article describes several large workforce inititatives that showed the power of collaboration in addressing recruitment, retention and training challenges.
