DD Data Brief: Gender, Age, and Disability Differences in Functional Limitations for Non-Institutionalized Adults in the NHIS-D (vol. 6, no. 1)
Product Description:
This DD Data Brief summarizes findings from the National Health Interview Survey conducted by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, National Center on Health Statistics, in 1994 and 1995, which included a Disability Supplement. It examines gender, age, and functional limitations and the relationship between age, functional limitations, and intellectual/developmental disabilities for adults, with a specific focus on adult women. Descriptive population estimates and a series of logistic regressions are used to examine the unique associations with various functional limitations of gender, age, disability, health status, race, and economic status. Analyses are also used to examine the relationship between older and younger adults, and differences by gender, disability type, and limitation type.
