Debra Heffernan, a 1983 UD graduate who serves as State Representative for Delaware?s 6th Legislative District, received the ?Legislative Award? from the State Council for Persons with Disabilities on January 19, 2012 at the 14th annual LIFE Conference in Dover, Del. The award is given to a state or federal legislator who has worked on disability issues that have positively impacted the lives of people with disabilities and their families. The LIFE Conference is Delaware?s premier annual conference for persons with disabilities and those who support them.
