This workshop will focus on the supports and skills necessary to help parents of adolescents and young adults with disabilities manage their own reactions and needs in the process of their children transitioning from high school into post-secondary education or vocation settings. Presentation will include understanding the relevant laws and parents' role in the lives of their adult children, managing typical and expected emotional factors for parents, and how to change the relationship from parent to partner.
