AIA - Accessing Child Developmental Services Predicts In-Home Placement of Substance- and HIV-Affected Children
Product Description:
Intake and termination data from two samples of substance-using and/or HIV-positive mothers of minor children were collected from 17 projects across the U.S. that served the families. Three classes of service utilization were identified, using hierarchical classes (HICLAS) analysis: Services to Meet Basic Needs, Treatment and Support Services, and Pediatric and Developmental Services. Pediatric and Developmental Services was the most significant predictor of children being placed in the home with the biological parent at termination. The panel facilitated discussions of the clinical and other likely reasons for these findings and their implications.
