Product Description:

This course looks at the importance and meaning of relationships. It looks at relationships in the lives of all people. Learners look at the benefits that healthy relationships bring to people's lives. They learn why relationships are valuable. Learners learn about common myths regarding people with developmental disabilities. They learn how these myths can create barriers to relationships. They will also learn specific strategies for overcoming these barriers. They will also learn about challenges that direct support professionals face when supporting people in developing and maintaining relationships. Finally the course explores the special relationships of family.
