By the end of this independent study student will be able to: Describe and explain the characteristics of children and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Identify and describe the characteristics and theoretical underpinnings of evidence-based practice and how it relates to individuals with ASD. Identify and explain existing evidence-based treatments for addressing the specific deficits of children and adults with ASD. Identify and describe the similarities and differences of evidence-based treatments are across the life span.
