Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by abnormalities in social communication and restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior. Impaired social functioning is a hallmark feature of ASD that often requires treatment throughout the life span. Adolescence is a particularly troubling period for individuals with ASD.
