Dr. Vanderbilt is a board certified Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician. While at Boston Medical Center and now at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, he has diagnosed and followed children on the autism spectrum and other related neurodevelopmental disabilities. His clinical activities focus on supporting families with children on the autism spectrum and those at high risk of developmental problems with evidence based diagnostic and treatment approaches. His interest is in helping to develop the CA-LEND and CHLA Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Training Programs into a nationally recognized clinical site and a cutting edge developmental and behavioral training experience. He has given presentations to various interdisciplinary groups and media outlets on the identification and treatment of autism spectrum disorders, medical traumatic stress, and developmental-behavioral pediatric topics. His research focuses on the posttraumatic stress of parents and children generated in medical settings and the effects of high-risk births. He has completed a 2 year old neurodevelopmental outcome study of children with Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. Current Roles
