This PowerPoint presentations describes how use of the "Least Dangerous Assumption" principle can influence the development of instructional and communication supports for students with significant disabilities. The presentation challenges traditional paradigms of "disability" and "mental retardation" and illustrates through specific student examples how a belief in students' capabilities changes their educational goals and the supports provided to enable them to fully participate and achieve those goals.
