Product Description:
The past half century has witnessed enormous paradigmatic shifts in the lived experience of disabilities. This special issue of Family Relations invited papers that explicate the advances in basic and applied sciences to address the needed services and supports for disability and the full participation of individuals and families in community life. From more than 50 submissions, 14 papers were selected that connect scholarly perspectives with family life and reflect emerging and innovative directions for understanding disabilities and family into the future.
The issue is anchored by four invited papers by prominent authors (Fujuira, Swenson & Lakin, Bailey & Colleagues, Wehmeyer) who reflect on critical issues, give voice to important trends, and remind us that there is much work to be done.
