Position Description: Responsible for research activities related to public policy, design of work-plans, preparation of round tables and educational workshops on public policy educational material, delineates public policy annual plan, facilitates communication between the UCEDD and government officials. Participate in the development and production in a variety of formats of materials, articles and products in the area of Public Policy.

Summary of Professional Activities: In September, 2003, Mrs. Rodríguez was appointed Public Policy Coordinator for the Institute on Developmental Disabilities, PRUCEDD. In August, 2001 Mrs. Rodríguez served as Counselor for the Caribbean University, Bayamón Campus providing individual and group guidance and counseling in
academic, vocational and personal areas, responsible for the administration of vocational interest test and needs assessment, provided technical assistance to teachers, prepared reports, newsletters, brochures, information and educational material, and dissemination of information and served as presenter in various workshops.
In March, 2000, Mrs. Rodríguez worked as Counselor at the Bank and Commerce Institute, San Juan Campus. Her duties included, but were not limited to provide individual and group guidance and counseling in academic, vocational and personal areas, administration of vocational interest test and needs assessment, preparation and provision of information, educational materials and technical assistance to teachers and students, and preparation of reports, brochures, newsletters and dissemination of general information as well as conducting workshops and seminars.
During October, 1991, Mrs. Rodríguez became the Project Coordinator of the Parent Training and Information Center, APNI, Inc. Mrs. Rodríguez provided guidance to parents and professionals, assumed an advocacy role and empowered them to develop knowledge and skills, prepared and coordinated meetings and seminars, actively participated in workshops as a resource, translated articles and information on early intervention, laws and service coordination, collaborated in the development of the strategic annual plan and newsletter, wrote articles and prepared reports and also provided technical assistance (home visits) to families and professionals identifying local and state educational resources, and facilitated support groups, designed evaluation forms and supervised staff.
